Single review: “DAYS of DASH” by Konomi Suzuki

Konomi Suzuki is a Japanese singer who won the 4th Animax All-Japan Anison Grand Prix in 2011 at the age of 14. DAYS of DASH is her second single.

Release date: November 21, 2012

Track List:

2. Fly to the stars
3. DAYS of DASH (Instrumental)
4. Fly to the stars (Instrumental)

This song is the first ending theme of the anime “Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo.” (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou)
The whole vibe of the song is generally happy and cheerful. It really sets the mood for having a get together with your friends. It has a balanced beat to it and simply sounds great. The song has a chorus of guitars, keyboard, drums and some great vocals. It starts out with some keyboards and drums, then suddenly the guitars and the vocals kicks in with some killer high notes. There is something about this song that I absolutely love!

2. Fly to the stars
So this is another song from Konomi Suzuki and it’s everything I expected it to be. This maintains the whole single style, being happy and cheerful. It has a few piano parts, some guitar and I detected some drums too and it all plays into each other very well. It’s got a nice melody to it and her singing is in tune to it as well. She also gets some high notes in this song again too which I’m very fond of for some reason. I don’t mind this song, but it isn’t as powerful as DAYS of DASH to me. There just needs to be a little bit more in my opinion.

3.DAYS of DASH (Instrumental) & 4.Fly to the stars (Instrumental)
It’s exactly what the title says, an instrumental so I don’t think there really needs to be an explanation for this.

This single keeps into the happy and cheery style of it all. The A-side has a really good orchestra of various instruments with some great high notes added to it. The B-side was alright in my opinion, the instruments and vocals all blend into with each other but it just wasn’t as great as DAYS of DASH to me.

Anyway, that was my first single review, I just hope I did a good job at it >.<…..

Austinatious out!!
